Reg: Compatible Brother LC401XL ink cartridges - High Yield - 4 pack. Very sorry to say, but my experience with refill bay was not good. When I bought from them the first time in 2024, I bought enough ink to last a year or so. I ordered two complete sets and two extra blacks as that is what gets used the most. Here recently September 2025, I went to use ink I had received in 2024. They weren't even 18 months old according to my invoice. Still in sealed packaging stored in cool dry place. Well, the first one didn't work. My printer did not recognize the ink cartridge. I tried a couple of others from the 2024 order. 5 in total. Same issue. None of them worked. When I contacted refill bay, they basically told me to bad, the warranty had expired. They only warranty their items for 12 months. They referred me to their warranty page. A product should be able to sit li=longer than that. They did not offer any other kind of resolution. So, I'm out the cost of those cartridges. No recourse. Buyer beware. I recommend buying ink from the MFG, so you get a decent warranty. Good Luck. I will not purchase from them again. TS Tel Com Owner.
We’re sorry about your bad experience. We offer generous 1 year warranty, but cartridges do expire and depend on storage environment cartridge shelf life on average is 3 years from manufacturing date. If cartridge is not stored in cool dry place, it might expire sooner. We apologize that we can’t replace your cartridge 1.5 years later than the purchase date.

First time I ordered this it was fine. Every single cartridge I have installed from this order has clogged my printer or will not run any ink at all. Very disappointed
Please note that even OEM ink will clog the printhead if printer is unused for couple weeks. Most printer ink is dye-based, that’s water and dye. If printer is unused for long time water will evaporate and dye will clog the printhead. It’s strongly recommended to print at least once a week to prevent the issue. If inkjet printer is not used often then laser printer is recommended. We offer printhead cleaners that resolves many issues with dry printheads

I really want to be happy with your product becasue of the price but my Brother MFC-J5855DW keeps telling me I am out of ink and there is still ink in the cartridge. I take it out and shake it, put it back in and then it works again for awhile but then says I am out again. So I end up with cartridges that I have to stop using bbut there is still ink in them. Then when I put them in a bag to return to Office Max for their cartridge return policy they leak and make a huge mess. The cyan was the worst and it got all over my hands and carseat. All of the cartidges you see still have ink in them but are not usable with my Brother. Please send replacements
Seems you were happy with the quality of our ink cartridge, but when you took your used cartridge to Office Max for recycling it leaked in your car. Please note, we are not related to Office Max. Also, the chip on your cartridge doesn’t have actual ink level sensor, it is counting qty of ink was printed. Manufacturers fill more ink than chips can count. For that reason, if you want to take your cartridge for recycling, please use two zip log bags as it’s normal to have some ink leftover.
